Seidman for Mayor Campaign Update

Tenth update to my mailing list about the progress and goals for my campaign.

Dear Neighbor, Last week's update this week, sorry for the delay. I got flabbergasting feedback in the last seven days ranging from "use more violence, no one will respect you otherwise" to "go back to school." I was challenged on both not going far enough to end modern day slavery because I wasn't prepared to ban the sale of fur in NYC and not being transparent enough about how you need to write me in if you support me because I did not meet the ballot requirements. You are all right. I hope I can be the candidate that balances all of these interests while staying steadfast to my mission - a mission to not only speak out against corruption but curb it through more referenda that help realign government with the interests of its constituents. Imagine if this election wasn't just another game of musical chairs with new faces in the old roles of under-delivering. Imagine if in 51 days we could actually vote for someone who is promising to decentralize their power. Imagine we made the government less corrupt before we tried to fix all the problems that only government is big enough to tackle. For my second apology of the email (unprecedented for a political candidate!), the forum Thursday at CUNY that I was invited to speak at was cancelled last minute for suitably vague reasons - my apologies if you set aside the time to view and had to find out it wasn't happening from anyone other than me. Last week was more than the forum getting cancelled though, it was about getting back up. Last Monday I was invited to an unusual police reform discussion which I will not share the link for directly, but if you find it - enjoy that. I released part seven of decentralize today A Penny Earned Should Be A Penny Taxed. You can catch me at the Manhattan Staten Island ferry terminal this afternoon 12-6pm for the Speakers' Corner. In decentralized power, Ira Seidman https://www.decentralizenyc.com/
