Stand Up
Seidman for Mayor Campaign Update
Eighth update to my mailing list about the progress and goals for my campaign.
Neighbor-
I implore you to read as much of this piece on the history of political corruption in New York City from the American Heritage Society [link now defunct] as you have time for; it's the perfect cocktail of power, graft, political machines, and reform efforts to help inform New York on how to best avoid the ills of the past.
Quick and dirty updates since I last put you guys on blast - I gave my address last Thursday, I joined a mayoral forum on Monday night, and I have been invited to speak at The CUNY Center for Community Media's mayoral candidate forum at 2pm on Thursday 4/29. Suffice it to say, I'm thrilled by how many people are reaching out, and I can't wait to talk to as many neighbors in nyc and beyond as possible.
Finally, I want to invite you to define what standing up looks like - standing up for justice, standing up for equality, standing up for fairness, standing up for what you believe is right. Your definition doesn't have to be crazy ambitious or overly virtuous, just define what you think would lead to justice, equality, fairness, and what you believe is right if everyone stood up by this definition. Now stand up.
In decentralized power,
Ira Seidman
